Gingerbread Dragon Complete

So far as I know this original creation of mine is the best gingerbread dragon on the net! And it was pretty easy to do! I will copy write the directions and sell kits, because it really is fun. Nigel made the dough (thankfully) I cut out some stencils and he rolled out and cut the dough to the stencil's shape. Transferring the longer pieces to the cookie sheet was the hardest part- and not tearing the dough when cutting around the stencil.  The legs are round cookies, we barely had enough dough for the wings.  The neck is three layers, the spikes were some left over dough we used every half inch.

So here is what has been sitting on the shelf for several weeks. The holidays got too busy but I finally had time to finish it.  Justin helped, I needed help because the frosting drys quickly and I was still working of getting the right body look and form.

I think he helped more because he wanted to eat some. The inspiration for the project was his nursery school gingerbread hunt. I thought someone would have done a dragon but I couldn't find any images of on like this on the net. Next year I will make smaller ones and see if I can post the directions on an instructables site and make some money off the idea.

The neck was further out but the base stomach level failed sending the head and neck crashing down. I set it on top of the body and suddenly she looked much more dragon-y. before it was a little loche-ness or brontosaurus.

Isn't she cute? For sure a female dragon if I may be so sexist, one the kids wouldn't share any more of their candy and two no place for fierce dragon teeth! Next year, next year.
With the real wings and yes no less than 10 minutes after the picture the far wing broke. Good thing I got pictures! The tail also broke in transferring it to a cleaner work area...
Okay so I photoshopped it a lot. I didn't have enough frosting to even attempt the wings. Josh has been fussy and I barely could get this done in between feeding him.
Up close look at the candy candy candy!

I have more pictures but I better save the secrets for next years triumph!
